Getting Here is Easy!

Getting Here
You can always rent a private plane, but the most popular way to get to North Caicos from Providenciales is by passenger ferry.
The ferry trip takes about 20 – 30 minutes and we suggest you arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your departure time. It’s a smooth ride and passes by large & small cays, including Parrot Cay where many stars have their homes.
Caribbean Cruisin operates service back and forth seven days a week but the ferry schedule is subject to change so please visit their website for the latest schedules:

You can catch the ferry at the TCI Ferry Terminal located at the northeastern end of Leeward Highway on Providenciales and it drops you off just minutes from Whitby Beach Cottage on North Caicos.
We suggest you either rent a car in advance or let us know when you’ll be arriving and we’ll have a taxi waiting for you. (There are currently no ferries that can transport vehicles.)
Our Facility Manager will be waiting to greet you at Whitby Beach Cottage and give you the lay of the land.
What to Do When You Get Here is Even Better
One of the best things to do when you are staying at Whitby is to simply relax on the beach, eating and drinking when you like, having a swim or a read, but doing little else.
For those with sightseeing and other activities in mind, our Property Manager can arrange for:
- Car rentals
- Fishing trips
- Snorkeling
- Bicycles
- Kayaks
- Touring the best parts of
North and Middle Caicos - and more…..
Some things you may want to do:
Flamingo Pond
Flamingo Pond is home to the largest protected sanctuary of pink flamingos in the Turks and Caicos. The best viewing point is in Whitby. North Caicos is also home to a large group of Pelicans and Ospreys, which fly up and down the coast.
Cottage Pond
A deep inland lake with underground access to the Ocean. Cottage Pond is located nearby.
Wades Green
One of the old plantations founded in the 1790’s during the United States’ Revolutionary War.
North Caicos Farm
A great place to see how tropical fruits and vegetables are grown on these islands. You can pick your own food here.
Jo Jo The Dolphin
Jo Jo has made his home here in the Turks & Caicos and quite often we have the privilege of playing with him on Whitby Beach, just outside the house. If you have luck to be there when he is, Jo Jo might just play with you for hours. Do remember he’s a wild animal and before playing with him look at this website.
Rentals
Bicycling is a great way to explore the island. There is a local store for renting bicycles. They also rent Kayaks to explore the reef. A car rental facility is close by. The manager will put you in touch.
Strolling & Beach Combing
Whitby Beach has a 7 mile stretch of an unspoiled, secluded white sand beach along the northern coast with crystal clear waters, perfect for barefoot walks.
Snorkling
You can bring your own mask to snorkel right in front of the cottage to see the Tropical Fish and coral.
Conch Bar Caves & Mudjin Harbor – Middle Caicos
Enjoy the scenic drive over the one-mile Causeway that connects North Caicos to Middle Caicos. Please wear the appropriate footwear as the caves can be slippery with guano (aka bat poop.)
Tours
The House Manager can put you in touch with places that will pick you up and drop you off to see the best that the island has to offer.
Just Hanging Out
We have a 3 porches for relaxation. The largest stretches the entire length of the front house, and has Adirondack Chairs and hammocks.

Bugaloos Conch Crawl is a seaside restaurant on Provo with live music and dancing. There are tables on the deck, on the beach, and on the water’s edge where your feet can be in the water while you eat.
They’ve got live conch in pens out in the water and their staff will walk out to bring it in fresh.

The Undersea Explorer is a must – to see the reef and its inhabitants (without ever getting wet)
